About Us
We are curiosity-driven scholars from various disciplines, including genomics, anthropology, mathematics, population genetics, and computational biology, broadly interested in evolutionary and anthropological genomics. We ask fundamental questions about humanity’s origins, evolution, and health while investigating mechanisms through which genomes evolve and affect function. Each team member brings unique skills and experiences, creating a vibrant and diverse collaborative environment. By combining our expertise and perspectives, we believe we can tackle complex questions related to genome evolution, human origins, migration patterns, and the genetic factors influencing human adaptation and disease. You can read about our research on our Google Scholar Page.
Our Approach
We strive to establish and sustain a cutting-edge, welcoming scientific environment where scholars with diverse intellectual interests and backgrounds can interact. We are committed to interdisciplinary work and question-driven research. As a result, we employ various experimental and computational methodologies and aim to bridge broad intellectual domains to shed light on human diversity and its implications for genome evolution and health.
The interdisciplinary nature of our work provides a fertile ground for collaboration. For example, we often collaborate with developmental and molecular biologists to investigate the functional effects of evolutionarily interesting genetic variations. We develop computational tools in collaboration with computer scientists and mathematicians. In this environment, we learn from each other and strive to train well-rounded, ethical, and rigorous scholars.
