Out in Molecular Biology and Evolution, led by Aguado and Pajic, with Charikleia Karageorgiou, Sarah Kassem and Stefan Ruhl among the authors. We traced the structural evolution of the proline-rich protein genes across primates and what it means for salivary defenses — another piece of the long-running question of why primate saliva looks so different from species to species. The paper is in Molecular Biology and Evolution (msag224).
